Welcome to ICLS 2026

Foreword,

The world is witnessing rapid advances in artificial intelligence technologies that have produced fundamental cognitive and methodological shifts, reopening debates about the nature of human knowledge, the limits of human intelligence, and the possibilities for human–machine integration. These transformations pose new challenges and opportunities for linguistic and literary studies, as they affect methodologies, analytical tools, and concepts of creativity, reception, and interpretation, and call for a re-examination of the theoretical and practical foundations of these fields.

Accordingly, the conference focuses on exploring ways to rethink linguistic and literary studies through productive interaction between human intelligence and artificial intelligence, and on encouraging interdisciplinary and integrative research that bridges the humanities and technical sciences. It also aims to scrutinize the cognitive, methodological, and ethical dimensions accompanying these transformations, with the goal of formulating new visions and methodologies that harness the potential of AI while preserving human values and standards.
